The youngest son of Darkseid. Grayven has the ability to use a small portion of the Omega effect.
Grayven is the third and illegitimate son of Darkseid and a yet to be revealed mother. Although he is the youngest of his two older brothers, Kalibak and Orion, he bears the strongest resemblance to his father and shares the same, although less powerful, set of powers as well. Also like his father, Grayven is on a mission of conquering everything he can, planets or other wise, carving a path of conquest and destruction across the universe. During this time, he destroys most of the galactic police force known as the Darkstars. His quest of domination eventually leads him to the planet Rann, where he begins to look for a zeta-beam device. The zeta beam device is a machine created by Rannian scientists to instantly transport large quantities of just about anything to anywhere in the known universe. Grayven intends to use this device to transport his devices to Apokolips, his fathers personal planet and base of operations, and overthrow Darkseid along with his forces and make himself the new ruler of his fathers empire. During this time, the remaining Darkstars and Green Lantern Kyle Rayner gather together and decide to face Grayven and his army on Rann in an attempt to stop the would be Tyrant. The Darkstars then begin to fight off Grayvens forces, while Kyle and Darkstar John Stewart, who himself used to be a Green Lantern, confront Grayven. John suffers serious injury during the fight, but Kyle is eventually able to trick Grayven into the zeta beam device and transports him off the planet to an undisclosed location. Without their leader, Grayvens army has no other choice but to retreat.
It is later found out that Kyle transported Grayven to Earths very core. Grayven digs himself out and fights Kyle, but is somehow quickly overpowered by the young ring slinger. To prevent defeat, Grayven uses his experimental transport device to escape his captor and send Kyle to the thirtieth century. Grayven is later seen during the Imperiex crisis as part of an alliance that wishes to destroy the galaxy eating giant. Later, after being possessed by Brainiac-13. Gayven confronts both Superman and Darksied and is defeated by Superman. For his embarrassing defeat at the hands of his foe, Darksied banished Grayven to live on Earth.
Recently, Grayven has been shown to have been lobotomized and is nearly catatonic. Thunder and the Martian Manhunter restore his mind and then assist him in building a zeta beam transporter to send the unknown scourge of the New Gods to Darkseid's throne room. This would then force Darkseid and the killer to fight, with the result benefiting Grayven either way. Thunder and J'onn however, decide it is best to trick Grayven. J’onn shape shifts into the Black Racer, the New Gods' incarnation of Death, to get Grayven to use the zeta beam on himself in order to escape. Unfortunately, as soon as Grayven arrives at his destination he is found and murdered by the real killer, the Infinity-Man.

Green Lantern: Ganthet profile
Once a Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet was exiled from Oa along with Sayd, a fellow Oa'n. They went on to found the Blue Lantern Corps, the heralds of Hope. Ganthet inducted himself into the Green Lantern Corps to aid in the fight for the Blackest Night.
One of the founding members of the Guardians of the Universe, creators of the Green Lantern Corps, Ganthet has played a large roll in the history of the Corps.
Ganthet is the oldest living Guardian of the Universe, and last of the Maltusians that voyaged to Oa from Maltus. Already considered by many, the most powerful of the Guardians, it came as no surprise that he alone survived Parallax's attack. though the effect of their rebirth at Kyle Rayner's hands have had an unknown affect on his power. Displaying an uncharacteristic interest in the affairs of humans Ganthet, served alongside Zeus, Shazam, and the Highfather in the Quintessence to keep watch over the Earth. Ganthet also had the distinction of being one of the few Guardians with which the Corps members felt they could Identify with. Despite these differences Ganthet began life much the same as any other Guardian...
Origins
Maltus, home planet of the Maltusians, a race so old, theirs was the apex of civilization when the first signs of life began appearing across planets of the universe. The blue skinned humanoids of Maltus were the immortal beings responsible for creating the scientific utopia that defined their planet. Eons of evolution and scientific discovery had gifted the Maltusian people with powerful telepathic and cosmic powers. The paradise the Guardians created seemed as though it would last forever, until the greedy ambitions of their finest scientist lead to its utter ruin. The Maltusian Krona, obsessed with gaining knowledge at any cost, had created a time machine against the wishes and warnings of his fellow Maltusians. Krona used his machine to gain the knowledge of creation itself, traveling back in time to witness the Big Bang.
In his hubris, Krona unleashed an explosion of Anti-matter, erasing billions of years from the time-stream. The backlash of the devastation wrought by the explosion unleashed a new threat unto the cosmos. For the first time, evil had awakened in the Universe.
The vast amount of Anti-matter released in the explosion coalesced itself into the Anti-Matter Universe, and from the shattered fragments of space and time, the Multiverse was born. More seriously, the Maltusians knew that, as it had in the past, the universe would one day contract upon itself to be reborn by a new "big bang". Due to the anti-matter unleashed by Krona, the universe was deprived of sufficient matter necessary to ignite a new "big bang". As a result of Krona's actions, the universe and all existence would one day simply die out, never to be reborn.
Feeling responsible for this, the Maltusians relocated to the planet Oa, located at "the center of the Universe", and became the Guardians of the Universe. Their goal was simple: combat evil and create an orderly universe. And they acted quickly on that goal. During this transitory period, the Maltusians' appearance changed as they adapted to their new life as Oans.
Ganthet's Tale
When a renegade Guardian Dawlakispokpok (Dawly) attempts to use a time machine to change history Ganthet must call upon the greatest Green Lantern,
Hal Jordan, for help. Dawly, planning to use his own time machine to send Krona to the end of time, and prevent him from creating the Anti-Matter Universe, Hal and Ganthet arrive to stop him . In the ensuing battle Hal discovers that it is in fact Dawly that was responsible for the universe being "born old". After his defeat, Dawly and his family are brought before the Guardians to stand trail, during which the Guardians erase the memories of all those involved. Ganthet however decided to shield Hal's mind, allowing him to retain his knowledge of on of the Guardians' darkest secrets
Emerald Twilight
After losing their greatest Lantern (Hal Jordan) to insanity, and the destruction of the Central Power Battery, the Guardians decide transfer all of their power to Ganthet, leaving him as the last remaining Guardian. Creating one last Green Power Ring from the remains of Hal Jordan's ring, Ganthet goes to Earth to find a new Green Lantern. After being turned down by his first choice Guy Gardner, Ganthet settles for Kyle Rayner, a struggling artist, reluctantly bestowing him with the ring, saying "You shall have to do".
Kyle. During Kyle's first few months as a Green Lantern, Ganthet is rather unimpressed with him and decides to take back his ring. Kyle is finally able to prove his worth by facing Parallax without his Power Ring.
Ion and Restoration of the Corps
After absorbing the residual energy of the sun after the Final Night, Kyle Rayner became the godlike Ion, a being even more powerful than Parallax. Soon coming to realize that continuing to wield Ion's power would cost him his very humanity, Kyle travels Oa and uses his power to recharge the Central Power Battery and restore the Green Lantern Corps. With the Central Battery restored, the a new group of childlike Guardians are born, both male and female. Entrusting Ganthet to raise and care for the new Guardians, teaching them to use their great power, and to embrace emotion rather than purge themselves of it. One Guardian in particular, a small girl named Lianna, demonstrated a proficiency and aptitude for her powers that far exceeded that of her peers. When a peaceful world under the Green Lantern's jurisdiction comes under attack, Ganthet realizes that Lianna has disappeared and so sends Kyle and Jade to investigate while he searches her. Upon their arrival Kyle and Jade come under attack from a female warrior, the missing Lianna. Arriving on scene, Ganthet qualms the fighting and take Lianna back to Oa, apologizing for his arrogance in thinking he could care for all the new Guardians himself. Deciding to seek aid in order to prevent such an event from occurring again, Ganthet sends for the Zamarons to aid him in raising the new Guardians.
Seeking knowledge of Parallax, Kyle Rayner travels to the end of the Universe. Upon his return Kyle relays his findings to Ganthet. Concluding that Parallax must have altered his memory after their last encounter, Ganthet tells Kyle the whole story behind the birth and imprisonment of Parallax. Realizing that their only hope my lay with Hal Jordan, Ganthet instructs Kyle to retrieve Jordan's corpse, so as to bring about his resurrection. Leaving immediately, Kyle is attacked by Kilowog, a fellow Green Lantern. Under Parallax's control Kilowog tried to kill Kyle, but is stopped by Ganthet. Releasing Kilowog, Guy Gardner, and John Stewart, Ganthet sends Kyle on his way. Discovering that Hal's corpse still holds remnants of Parallax, it takes the combined efforts of Hal and the Spectre to fully cleanse his soul. Purged from Jordan's body Parallax instead, bonds itself to Ganthet. Just before he is taken, Ganthet sends a beacon of energy to guide Hal Jordan's soul back to his body. Now fully purified and resurrected, Hal Jordan leads the Kyle Rayner and the other Lanterns in defeating the Parallax-possessed Ganthet, returning Parallax to its prison in Central Power Battery.
In the aftermath of these events, all of the new Guardians are restored to adulthood, becoming as cold and manipulative as their predecessors. The only notable difference being addition of female Guardians to their ranks. Ganthet, as ever, maintains his belief that they should embrace their emotions.
Sinestro Corps War
As events are set in motion that will ignite the long awaited war between the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps, Ganthet and fellow Guardian Sayd are their order for embracing emotion.
Having finally regained its true, monstrous form, Parallax attacks the Earth Lanterns for freeing Kyle Rayner from his control. Ganthet and Sayd arrive just in time to save them by banishing Parallax into their four power batteries (Hal Jordan's, Kyle Rayner's, John Stewart's, and Guy Gardner's, respectively). After revealing his and Sayd's expulsion from the order, Ganthet uses the last of his Guardian power to forge a new power ring for Kyle, and asks that he step down as Ion, to which Kyle readily agrees. Taking up their power batteries, the four Earth Lanterns hear the Sinestro Corps oath echoing in the distance, and, as one, recite the Green Lantern Oath, and depart to confront the Sinestro Corps.
To prepare them for the battle ahead, Ganthet and Sayd reveal the emotional energy spectrum created at the start of the universe. The seven colors of the emotional spectrum: green (will), yellow (fear), violet (love), red (rage), indigo (compassion), orange (greed), and blue (hope) each derive their power from their respective emotions. Those colors closest to either end of the spectrum are far more dangerous and unwieldy, often corrupting those they empower after prolonged use. Ganthet also reveals that, in the very near future, each color will develop its own Lantern Corps of followers, all gathering to fight one another, culminating in a War of Light that will lead to the cataclysm t known as the Blackest Night, the darkest secret concealed within the Book of Oa.

Green Lantern: Major Force profile
Major Force is an unstable villain of Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner, and Captain Atom. Constantly killing off Kyle Rayner's girlfriends, it's been proven time and time again, how unstable Major Force is.
History
Major Clifford Zmeck underwent the same test as Nathaniel Adam during the Vietnam War. When Nathaniel seemingly disappeared, the government deemed it a failure, and began testing on another subject, but with Cliff they increased the amount of metal used, in comparison to the original project. Clifford was found in a high security prison during his time with the USAF for a rape crime, and sentenced to life time in prison. He was offered a pardon, should he partake in the project, the results were the same. However, this time, Cliff arrived one year later than Nate. When he arrived, the government implanted micro explosives under the metal while it was still malleable, in order to control Zmeck in case he went rogue. He was first shown as an ally of Captain Atom, but after a brief scrap, Captain Atom left, and the newly dubbed Major Force became his successor. Constantly fighting Captain Atom, he eventually became a hired gun for General Eiling’s purposes. Major Force would prove to be unbalanced, and killed the Green Lantern Kyle Rayner’s girlfriend and stuck her remains Into a refrigerator. Infuriated, the Lantern nearly killed Cliff, but was stopped by the military of the United States. Cliff goes on to kill a different Green Lantern and, later in Tokyo, another Green Lantern, Guy Gardner, seemingly kills Cliff. However, he is completely made of energy, so in essence, Major Force is immortal.
It is later, the then president, Lex Luthor, recruits Captain Atom to organize a task force of sorts, to bring in Superman when a Kryptonite asteroid was heading towards Earth. Eventually, Major Force’s hands are sliced off, releasing the nuclear based energy contained in his suit. Captain Atom had to absorb him, quantum leaping him a few years. Major Force, at that point, had disappeared.
He would later appear killing another person close to Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner. Killing his mother, and then sticking her severed head into an oven. Kyle then decapitated Major Force and sent his head into space, his head still talking.
One Year Later, Major Force is causing a disturbance in Blüdhaven, and during the battle, rips off the arm of a character named “ Major Victory“, and beats him to death with it. Captain Atom would later awaken, in the Monarch suit, to drain all of Major Force’s energy, leaving his corpse to fall to the ground.
Major Force has been identified as one of the deceased entombed below the Hall of Justice.
Powers and Abilities
Like Captain Atom, Major Force's superhuman abilities are tied to the Quantum Field. He is powerful, but not quite as powerful as Captain Atom is shown to be (since the ability to use the Quantum Field is based on imagination, intelligence, and willpower) due to his lack of a significant level of intelligence, as well as his psychotic nature. He possesses vast superhuman strength in excess of 100,000-ton range (having been able to knock Superman across three states and physically engage him in the same battle, knock around Wonder Woman and Resurrection Man, physically engage the likes for Vuldarian Guy Gardner, and stand toe-to-toe with Captain Atom, physically). His initially showed the ability to project blasts of dark matter for offensive measures, as well as hard constructs for other uses. He is also has a significant level of invulnerability (though, not as invulnerable as Captain Atom, due to having his durability exploited by things Atom can and has withstood), due to the Dilustel skin covering his body. Due to his lack of intelligence, he is unable to (or never learned to) absorb energy (as a result, can have his Dilustel skin melted down by extreme temperatures like they have been before, breached by Green Lanterns, or blasted through by powerful bursts of energy), cannot remove his Dilustel skin like Bombshell or Captain Atom, and was once unable to fly. Over the years, he has learned to project Quantum blasts much like Captain Atom, as well as dark Quantum energy that could drain solar energy from Superman's cells. He has also currently shown the ability to fly and project energy shields (finally!). Major Force is also immortal due to his connection to the Quantum Field.

Green Lantern: Hector Hammond profile
Hector Hammond is a DC Universe supervillain who is primarily an enemy of Green Lantern. The character was created by John Broome and Gil Kane, and originally appeared in Green Lantern (vol. 2) # 5 (March-April 1961). Unlike many supervillains, Hammond does not use an alias.
Hammond is a petty criminal on the run from the law when he discovers the fragments of a strange meteor in the woods (later retconned as part of the same meteor that lands in Africa, super-evolving Gorilla Grodd and the other gorillas of Gorilla City). Observing that radiation from the meteor has caused the nearby plants to evolve rapidly, Hammond decides to kidnap four scientists and expose them to the meteor. The radiation causes their intellects to evolve, but also has the side effect of sapping their wills. Hammond is able to force the scientists to use their heightened intellect to create amazing new inventions, which Hammond sells for his own profit.
Hammond rapidly becomes a rich celebrity due to the wealth he has acquired. Green Lantern Hal Jordan asks his friend and mechanic, Thomas Kalmaku, to take on the role of the Green Lantern while Jordan investigates Hammond. Jordan creates a duplicate power ring and costume for Kalmaku to fool Hammond. Unaware of the impersonation, Hammond kidnaps Kalmaku, steals his ring and turns him into a chimpanzee. Jordan confronts Hammond personally in a battle of power rings that ends only when the charge of Hammond's ring runs out, allowing Jordan to capture him and restore Kalmaku and the scientists.
Hammond returns in Justice League of America #14 (September 1962), where he has managed to escape from prison and deliberately exposes himself to the meteorite. The radiation causes his brain to grow to enormous size, granting him psionic powers as well as immortality in the process. Unfortunately, his body becomes immobilized and he loses the power to speak. Trapped in a motionless state, Hammond is still able to use his psionic powers to control the minds of others. He attempts to steal the Green Lantern's ring, but Jordan manages to command his ring to drain itself of power when it leaves his finger, after which Jordan renders Hammond unconscious.
Hammond is responsible for the creation of the second Royal Flush Gang in Justice League of America #203 (June 1982). Hammond and the Gang are defeated when Dr. Martin Stein, one half of the superhero Firestorm, subdues Hector on the astral plane.
In addition to battling Hal Jordan, Hammond has also fought Alan Scott as well as Kyle Rayner.
Powers and abilities
Hammond in his mutated state exhibits genius level intellect, potent telepathic and telekinetic abilities, and on occasion displays the ability to absorb and mentally redirect Green Lantern's emerald plasma. In some incarnations, his body has atrophied to the point where he cannot walk and he has to strap his head to a chair to support its weight.a

Green Lantern: Star Sapphire profile
Origin
Created by the Zamarons to collect the various emotions of emotional energy spectrum and to spread and protect love throughout the universe in order to promote order and revenge against males.
The Beginning
Carol Ferris reveals to Hal Jordan that during the most recent time the gem possessed her, she gained knowledge of the Star Sapphire: they come from Sector 1416 and comprise a corps known as the Star Sapphires whose purpose is to spread love throughout all 3600 sectors of the universe. The leaders of the Corps are Oans who, after migrating to Zamaron, found a parasitic crystal which they shaped into several Star Sapphires. These were used to empower females who had been loved and spurned, providing them the opportunity for revenge.
In the afterlude of this incident, the Zamarons are shown converting the Star Sapphire (which Hal Jordan had tricked into latching onto one of the Zamarons) into a power ring and lantern, which they place on a dais which contains a ring and lantern set of the Green Lantern Corps and the Sinestro Corps, alongside several ring/lantern sets of different colors mentioning that they must collect all emotions in order to combat "the Prophecy".
After realizing the power of the Star Sapphire was too great for them to control, the Zamarons forged a Violet Power Battery and power ring out of the Star Sapphire (Gem). Violet power rings are fueled by the emotion of love, one of the two emotions, with the other being rage, that most influence their user.

An ancient horror, Parallax is an entity of comprised pure fear that can possess other beings. It is known to ravage planets and strike terror into the hearts of even the Guardians of the Universe.
Parallax is the living embodiment of fear, a demonic parasitic entity which would travel from world to world, causing entire societies to destroy themselves out of fear and paranoia. Parallax is one of the seven Emotional Embodiments representing the individual aspects of the Emotional Spectrum.
Parallax is partially responsible for Larfleeze's ascension to Agent Orange
Originally, The Guardians Of The Universe trapped Parallax inside of a container which was kept safe on the planet Maltus. A group of thieves. led by Larfleeze, stole the containment unit along with a map that led them straight to the Orange Lantern Central Power Battery on the planet Okaara in The Vega System. During a struggle for the Orange Power Battery between Larfleeze and his former guildmates Blooch and Turpa, the Guardians and a group of Manhunters desperately tried to retrieve Parallax but, due to the intense power of the Orange Light of Avarice, all who attempted were killed in the process.
The Guardians eventually were able to strike a deal that would allow the person who won the struggle for the Orange Light of Avarice to keep all of it's power as well as have total control of the Vega System, so long as they did not breech its borders. Larfleeze ended up being the victor and shortly following his transformation into Agent Orange, he handed over the containment unit that was keeping Parallax imprisoned as a sign of good faith. Sometime later, Parallax went from being contained within the box to being imprisoned within the Green Lantern Central Power Battery. This caused the color yellow's immunity to Green Lantern rings as well as the Green Lantern rings' weakness to the color yellow.
Parallax saw a "kink in the armor" in Hal Jordan as a way to escape. Parallax caused Hal to begin do have doubts, to begin to fear things. In doing so, Parallax inadvertently caused the premature graying of Jordan's temple, causing Hal to fear aging and believe himself to be ineffectual. A series of events led to Hal becoming even weaker to the influence of fear such as the Death and Return of Superman and the destruction of Coast City, Hal's hometown. Through this, Parallax drove Hal into madness, and when Hal entered the Central Power Battery, Parallax fused itself with Hal's soul.
When Hal Jordan sacrificed himself rekindling the sun, he became the Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance. Still, Parallax remained bound to him. The Spectre explained to Jordan the truth about Parallax. At the same time, at the headquarters of the JLA, Kyle Rayner shared similar information with Green Arrow. Rayner explained that he journeyed to the edge of the universe, and on the tenth planet from the star Pagallus, the inhabitants told him that Parallax was actually a yellow demonic parasitic entity that was born at the beginning of sentience, feeding on fear, creating terror in anything it came into contact with, and causing entire civilizations to destroy themselves out of paranoia.
The Guardians imprisoned this creature within the Central Power Battery on Oa, using fear's opposite energy, willpower. Rayner explained that there is an emotional spectrum from which the collective willpower of the universe is collected by the Central Power Battery, and that green willpower is the most pure. Parallax had lain dormant for billions of years, his true nature covered up by the Guardians to prevent anyone from trying to free it, and thus, it had eventually come to be referred to as simply “the yellow impurity.” This was the reason why the rings were useless against the color yellow. Parallax weakened its power over the corresponding spectrum, and hence only someone capable of overcoming great fear could master the power ring. The Guardians, therefore, selected only such persons to become Green Lanterns.
The Justice League Of America and Justice Society Of America arrived in the rebuilt Coast City to attack Parallax, but the entity inhibits their efforts by causing them to feel fear. The Spirit of Vengeance, however, manages to overpower Parallax, and finally removes the parasite from Jordan’s soul. Needing a soul to inhabit, Parallax attacks Ganthet, while Jordan’s soul is pulled toward the light of the afterlife. Ganthet manages to guide Jordan’s soul back to his corporeal body on the Moon. His soul and thoughts finally clear for the first time in a long time, Jordan emerges from the coffin resurrected as a mortal human, once again taking his place as a Green Lantern, the white portions of his hair even restored to their original brown. He and Sinestro engage in a fierce battle on the Moon. Eventually, Jordan forces the renegade back into the antimatter universe into which he was first banished. Jordan and Rayner then journey to Coast City, where they, along with John Stewart, Guy Gardner and Kilowog, free Ganthet from Parallax’s possession, and imprison the parasite back in the Central Power Battery on Oa.
It was in the central battery that Parallax stayed for the next year, until the events of the Sinestro Corps War. When Sinestro began his bid for power, his first move was an assault on the citadel of the Guardians themselves, the planet Oa. During this initial assault many Lanterns fell, and Superman-Prime, as well as Hank Henshaw were released from the Sciencells. Yet these were not the only goals accomplished by Sinestro’s soldiers. They also managed to free Parallax and to booby-trap the Central Power Battery. He was not kept long without a host. As part of his own brand of vengeance, Sinestro had captured and broken Kyle Rayner, who would now serve as the new host for Parallax. It was after this that he was introduced to the Anti-Monitor, the guardian of the Sinestro Corps, to serve as one of his heralds. Parallax was able to use the trap the Corps of Fear had set to capture the rest of the Earth Lanterns. Reaching through the Central Power Battery, he drew John Stewart and Guy Gardner to Qward to be tortured. He also captured Hal Jordan. After first tormenting him with images of his father’s final moments, he then dragged him to Qward as well. He then proceeded to attack him, while berating him about having taken over Kyle and his capture of the other Earth Lanterns.
Creating two constructs, one of Kyle in his first Green Lantern costume, and one of him in his second incarnation as Ion, he began tearing into Jordan. After awhile of beating him around, he allowed the rest of the Corps to attack him, until the Lost Lanterns intervened. Parallax had no intention of allowing this opportunity to finish what he’d started so long ago to escape him. He attacked Hal and the Lost Lanterns full force, managing to torment and kill Jack T. Chance before they escaped. It was then that Sinestro returned to Qward, and Parallax went with him into the tunnels to hunt down the Lanterns. They managed to corner Hal and the other Earth lanterns, and while Sinestro dealt with Jordan, Parallax attacked Guy Gardner. He almost managed to kill the Lantern before the rest of the Lost Lanterns arrived yet again, this time with Ion in tow, and managed to escape again. Sinestro later sent him to scout ahead in Coast City and prepare for the final assault.
Even though he's back in prison he still lingers in Kyle's mind.
While all of this was going on, Parallax was also dealing with Kyle Rayner. Trapped inside his own mind when Parallax took over his body, Kyle has been forced to watch him commit these heinous acts. While he had been fighting Hal Jordan, he had tormented him about his lost loved ones, Donna Troy, Jade, Alex, and his mother. Using the power of his mind, Kyle attempted to fight back, but Parallax was stronger. He was able to crush his spirit, or so Parallax thought. Kyle managed to find hope and the power to fight back just as events in reality happened. Parallax’s first stop was the home of Hal Jordan’s brother’s family. Just as he was about to attack his family, Jordan arrived and attacked him, dragging him out into the desert and away from his family. Hal called out to Kyle, and managed to get through to him, but his power ring died just as he was about to save him. Parallax absorbed Hal as well, and now with both of them seemed more powerful than ever. John Stewart arrived just as this occurred, and was forced to face this new foe. John managed to hold him off until Guy arrived with a painting Kyle’s mother drew to help him snap out of it. Inside of Parallax Kyle and Hal together managed to find the willpower to escape. Parallax was not yet defeated and, while the Lanterns celebrated, he made his move to regain his prisoners. It was only with the timely intervention of former Guardians, Ganthet and Sayd, that he was denied his victory. The two Oans trapped him in the four individual power batteries of the Earth Lanterns. He is currently still trapped.
He was released by Hal Jordan to battle the Spectre during Blackest Night, because Hal said that the Spectre was afraid of Parallax. Hal Jordan willingly offered himself to be Parallax's host again. Now fused with Parallax Hal was able to free the Spectre from his imprisonment in the Black Power Ring. The Spectre admits that he is afraid of Parallax and his kind. with the help of the Spectre and Carol Ferris Hal was released of being the parasites host. Just before Parallax was able to fuse with Sinestro, he was warped to a distant location by unknown means.
During the Brightest Day arc, in issue #54 of Green Lantern. Parallax is seen chained to a pillar with it's corps symbol underneath. Other pillars have the other Corps symbols, but Parallax is currently only one of two being chained up, along with Ion.
POWERS:
possession: the host of parallax gets a tremendous amount of energy and power by just feeding off fear.
limited reality altering
energy constructs: creates constructs just like a sinestro corps lantern
mind control: can install fear in others to be able to control them.

Former Green Lantern, current leader of the Sinestro Corps
Origin
Thaal Sinestro, originally an anthropologist from the planet Korugar, had a natural affinity for order as displayed by his meticulous reconstructions of ancient ruins. It was at one of these reconstructions that a wounded Green Lantern, Prohl Gosgotha, crash landed. He gave his ring to Sinestro who barely defeated the lantern's pursuer, a Weaponer of Qward , at the cost of the very ruins he had restored. When Gosgotha requested his ring back after the battle so that it might keep him alive
Sinestro as a Green Lantern
Sinestro instead allowed him to die and took his place. The Guardians, unaware of his actions, allowed Sinestro to become the Green Lantern for sector 1417.
Sinestro quickly became one of the most highly regarded lanterns in the corps. with his relentless pursuit of order. Eventually this desire to preserve order led him to believe his sector would be best served by his conquering his home world and ruling it as it's unquestioned dictator. Sinestro became obsessed with his idea of protection at any cost.
Sinestro was assigned as instructor for new Green Lantern recruit, Hal Jordan, who was shocked by the former’s totalitarian methods. Sinestro defended his practices as being necessary to protect his people from alien forces. This was put to the test when the Khund warlods attacked Korugar and Hal and Sinestro attempted to repel them. Hal called for help from other Green Lanterns inadvertently exposing Sinestro’s dictatorship to the Guardians.
Sinestro stood for punishment before the Guardians and was replaced by Katma Tui, leader of the Korugarian resistance. Although she would eventually become a respected member of the corps., Katma Tui did not want to become a Green Lantern. She and the rest of Korugar viewed the Green Lantern Corps. as a machine for oppression, a view that persists on Korugar to this day.
Exile and Return
Sinestro was banished to the anti-matter universe, specifically to the world of Qward. The Guardians had hoped that banishing Sinestro to a world inhabited by people that hated him as a Green Lantern would humble him; instead he was able to forge an alliance with the Weaponers of Qward. They would use their technology and vast pool of slave labor to create a yellow power ring for Sinestro to exact revenge on his formers master for wronging him as Sinestro believed they had.
Armed for revenge
In the following years Sinestro would confront the Green Lantern Corps on many occasions and become one of their most feared adversaries due to the weakness in the green power rings against yellow. Despite this, Sinestro would be defeated repeatedly by his former student, Hal Jordan.
When the Guardians left the universe in an attempt to mate, they built a vast prison on Oa for Sinestro and thousands of the Corps’ other enemies. Sinestro was able to manipulate the Mad God of Sector 3600 to escape and become even more powerful. Sinestro went on a rampage that left entire star systems shattered and billions dead. He was finally subdued by the Green Lanterns and made to stand trial for his crimes. He was condemned to death and executed, but Sinestro’s trickery won out.
Sinestro was able to transfer his mind into the green central power battery upon his death and deactivate it, cutting off the entire Green Lantern Corps from their power source. Hal Jordan entered the power battery in an attempt to restore the powers of his fellow lanterns. He was able to defeat the spirit of Sinestro and leave him trapped, powerless inside the battery for all eternity. Once again, Sinestro had one more trick to play on his nemesis. He was able to ‘infect’ Jordan with the parasite, Parallax, the source of the Green Lantern’s weakness against the color yellow.
When the alien warlord, Mongul, and Hank Henshaw laid waste to Hal Jordan’s home of Coast City and all of its inhabitants, Jordan was driven mad with grief. His grief allowed the Parallax entity to possess him and led him on a rampage that decimated the Green Lantern Corps and most of the guardians dead. In a desperate bid to stop him the remaining guardians freed Sinestro from the central power battery. Jordan defeated Sinestro and snapped his neck, however, this Sinestro was only a hard light construct operated by the real Sinestro still trapped inside the battery. When Hal destroyed the power battery and absorbed most of its energy into him, Sinestro was able to escape and went into hiding.
Iperfect Duplicate
An artificial intelligence based on the deceased son of Dr. Julian Lazarus created a flawed copy of Sinestro and while it had none of Sinestro’s cunning it was able to cause a significant amount of devastation. The device was stopped by Wonder Woman and Hercules and the Sinestro construct along with it.
Return
Sinestro came out of hiding after the existence of Parallax was revealed culminating in the return of Hal Jordan from the dead. Sinestro was forced to retreat into the anti-matter universe when his ring became damaged in the fight.
Sinestro briefly returned during the Villains United storyline. He was involved with the Secret Society of Super-Villains' massacre of the Freedom Fighters.
Sinestro Corps War
Sinestro assembled an army of yellow-ring-wielding fear-mongers dubbed the Sinestro Corps. He was able to strip Kyle Rayner of the Ion entity and replace it with Parallax. Meanwhile the Sinestro
The Heralds of the Anti-Monitor
Corps assaulted Oa, releasing numerous prisoners and killing dozens of Lanterns. Sinestro was able to recruit two of those escapees, Hank Henshaw and Superman Prime.
Sinestro, Parallax, Hensaw and Superman Prime became the heralds of the Anti-Monitor, the sole guardian of the Sinestro Corps. The Anti-Monitor saw the Sinestro Corps as a tool to aid in his crusade to destroy the matter universe. Hal Jordan and a group of Green Lanterns attacked Qward, freeing the Ion entity.
Sinestro brought the battle to Earth, center of the multiverse. The Sinestro Corps, the Manhunters and the heralds of the Anti-Monitor fought the Green Lantern Corps and the heroes of Earth across the globe. Kyle Rayner, free from Parallax, and Hal Jordan defeated Sinestro after all of their rings were de-powered by the Manhunters, ending the battle. Sinestro was imprisoned on Oa and his Corps was scattered into space.
Origins & Omens
Visiting Soranik Natu
Sinestro revealed the corps was part of his plans to have the guardians allow the Green Lanterns to use deadly force and become feared. Sinestro was given a sentence of death by the guardians and was to be sent to Korugar for the sentence to be carried out. En route to Korugar a group of Sinestro Corps lanterns attempted to free Sinestro, but were stopped when Atrocitus and his Red Lanterns attacked both sides. During the battle a Blue Lantern, Saint Walker, appeared and informed Hal Jordan that Sinestro must survive to face the upcoming Blackest Night.
Sinestro is taken to Ysmault and nailed to a cross. Atrocitus planned to torment Sinestro and destroy everything he’s even held dear. Atrocitus reveals he even knows about Sintro’s daughter despite his best efforts to keep her secret. The Red Lanterns ambush the Green and Blue Lanterns when they attempt to free Sinestro. During the fight a group of Yellow Lanterns free Sinestro and while Hal is trying to free Laira from her red ring Sinestro shoots her through the chest, killing her. This enrages Hal enough that Laira’s red ring chooses him as her replacement and in his berserk rage he attempts to kill Sinestro. Saint Walker frees Hal by placing a blue ring on his finger, destroying the red ring and making Hal a hybrid Blue/Green Lantern.
Sinestro escaped to Korugar, incapacitated Princess Iolande, and confronts his daughter Soranik Natu. He tells her how her mother took her and fled as he rose to power. He was able to mark her and plant a transmitter on her so he could always locate her. He had visited her several times over the course of her life, but always in disguise. He also told her how proud he was of her for peacefully bringing order to Korugar.
Abilities of Sinestro's Ring
The Ring is a source of limitless power, and thus there is no theoretical limit to what it can do, but here are some abilities it has been shown to have. Its user must be a expert at instilling fear.
Artificial Intelligence: Every ring has a connection to the Main Battery on Qward, which taps into Parallax. It acts as an "on-board computer," telling the wearer what they need to know. It can either respond out loud, or silently directly to the wearer's mind. The AI contains a large database of information that may be crucial to a "Sinestro's" success. The ring also translates nearly every language to and from the wearer, which is why the Corps can communicate with each other. When the bearer of a Sinestro Corps ring dies, the ring will seek out a suitable replacement for their sector, someone capable of instilling great fear.
Communicator: The ring can act as a personal communicator between Sinestro Corps members.
Energy absorptions:The user can absorb and store most forms of energy.
Timetravel: The user can travel forward in time.
Translator of languages: The ring can translate languages so that the user can understand.
Costumes: The wearer of the ring may create a Sinestro Corps uniform.
Energy Beams, Bubbles, Force-Fields, and Blasts: The rings can also project beams, form protective bubbles and force fields, and fire destructive blasts. The power ring can contain immense amount of forces.
Energy Constructs: The rings can construct anything the wearer can imagine from hard-light energy, as long as they are willing to make it. The more determined the wearer is, the more complex and intricate these things can be. The constructs can even be so complex as to form working machines, computers, and even people.
Flight: The ring allows the wearer to fly in atmosphere or in space, and can achieve light-speed, moving from planet to planet in a matter of hours.
Mind Control: The wearer of the Ring can use it to plant post hypnotic commands or control a person.
Mirages: The Ring can create mirages/illusions. This would often be used to create images of monters or other horrific creatures or tableus.
Phasing: The ring allows the user to go through walls.
Probing: The ring can probe the Lantern's or another person's mind, allowing him to uncover memories or the person's thoughts, often to use them against to instill great fear.
Radiation: Besides light based radiation used to create the energy constructs associated with a Sinestro Corps member or a Green Lantern, the ring can simulate various forms of radiation. One example of this is the ability to simulate the radiation of Red solar radiation, which stunts or removes the powers of Kryptonians and Daxamites.
Recharging: The rings need to be recharged by means of a Power Battery. Other large sources of power may be used to recharge a power ring, however effectiveness may vary. The internal power source of a Manhunter Android is, in effect, the same as a power battery, and can be used to recharge a power ring. As a member of the Sinestro Corps recharges their ring, they generally quote the Sinestro Corps oath:
Weakness
Blue lanterns: The yellow power ring can work on any color and is able to kill but a blue lantern ring can discharge a yellow ring.
Red lanterns: The yellow power ring can´t stop red lanterns fire.
Overconfidence: Sinestro's arrogance has lead him to defeat in the past.
Oath
“In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light
Let those who try to stop what's right,
Burn like my power... Sinestro's might!”
Personality and traits
Even as a Green Lantern Sinestro was cold, arrogant, egotistical, and harsh. He also will do what ever it takes to preserve order in the universe, a trait that expelled him from the Green Lantern Corps. He is also a master strategist and manipulator. Though he does have his good traits, such as genuinely caring for his daughter and wanting to bring order to the universe.
Relationships
Abin Sur - Though they have never been seen interacting with each other it was recently implied Sinestro respects Abin.
Arin Sur - It is revealed during the Blackest Night that Sinestro was involved in a relationship with Abin's sister.
Hal Jordan - Sinestro and Hal got off to a bad start due both of their problems but eventually they became friends. But when Hal discovered Sinestro had formed a dictatorship on Korugar their friendship quickly fell apart and they became bitter enemies. Though Sinestro has saved Hal's life recently.
Soranik Natu - Sinestro cares for his daughter deeply though his feelings are not returned as she hates him.
Kyle Rayner and Guy Gardner - He has no respect for them.
